Basic Herbal Preparations - Tinctures

Tinctures, specifically alcohol and glycerin extracts are a great way to concentrate and preserve your fresh plant medicinal herbs for year round use. They are portable and are effective at the smallest dose of any herbal extract.

Learn how to make both alcohol and glycerin extracts  for both fresh and dried plant tinctures, using two different methods - the Folk Method and the Weight to Volume Method.  Students will have hands-on experience with making both preparations from start to finish.

After this class, students should be confident in selecting and researching a plant for extract as a tincture, competence in both methods for making the tincture and assessing the final product for quality and potency.
